Color Of The Year 2012: Tangerine Tango

by Gillian

Back in early December Pantone declared Tangerine Tango #17-1463 their color of the year for 2012. Representative of the energy boost we need to forge ahead this fiery hue does just that. Now I am certainly not suggesting that you paint your entire room this bold shade but consider using it as an accent wall, or if that is too much use it in throw pillows, a rug, table linens, art, accessories, or appliances. Pantone – PANTONE Color, products and guides for accurate color communication.

Blue and orange are complimentary colors and work so well here to make a charming and cheerful nursery from DwellStudio | SKYLINE LT. BLUE CRIB SET – For Boys – Baby.

And for the grown ups….

This is a HUGE color commitment as not only have they painted the walls but the ceiling as well! I do love the mirrored effect of the high gloss though.

The blue sofa and side lamp help compliment the bright walls.

Afraid Of Color?

by Gillian

In theory, you like the idea of a room with color. In reality, you’re not sure. So how can you get the wow factor without the regret? Paint the back of your bookcase. Pick a bright color since you want it to really pop. Don’t worry, most of the color will be obscured by books, tchotchkes and pictures.
